  1. Shabubu has provided me with instructions for ripping the adudio for my conversion within which he advises downloading ssrc, however I cannot find reference to this anywhere, can anyone tell me where this tool can be found, if it helps it is apparantly to be used in conjunction with Azid, toolame, and wavebooster.

It is mention at step 11 in the instructions below if anyone can help.

    Thanks

    1) Download Azid/Lame GUI
    2) Download Azid, tooLame, wavebooster and SSRC (you may need to click see all)
    3) Open up Azid/Lame GUI
    4) The window looks a bit confusing, but it's easy when you get used to it. First click on azid 1, at the top are three path info type windows. In the first click the button left of it and browse to the location of Azid
    5) Underneath that click the button and browse to your audio source
    6) Next choose a place where to save
    7) If your DVD2AVI AC3 file is called 3_2 something click on the checkbox next to LFE to LR and put in -3dB (under downmix levels). if it's 2_0 then don't bother.
    Under output modes selct stereo>Surround.
    9) Under overall output configuration select compression if you want it, then autofind maximum gain (there is a bug where sometimes this will be set to high, you'll get downmix overflows. If this happens just deduct how much the overflow was from the gain it chose and start again).
    10) Under Azid2 make sure the top two options are selected.
11)Under SSRC select a sampling rate of 44100 as output, and 2 pass (if your DVD player can accept this you don't need to do it, but lets stick to the standard shall we)
    12) Under Boost select Auto, you also don't need to do this if you don't want to
    13) Under 2Lame select encoding mode of joint stereo, total bitrate of 224 (or 192 if you prefer).
    14) Make sure you've also put in the program locations of all the other progs.
    15) Click batch mode
    16) 2 windows open, a file list and a set up, drag your ac3 file from explorer to the file list.
    17) Under batch set-up click the tick boxes next to the drop down lists, choose the steps in which order you want them, the default is usually fine. Remeber to change the last one to tooLame
1 Make sure delete the temp is selected, that gets rid of the huge intermediate file.

    Click on the Azid->?????->???????->tooLame

    Your done.

SSRC is a sampling rate converter. SVCD standard requires a sampling frequency of 44,1 kHz. DVD audio is usually 48 kHz. Although many dvd players will play SVCD with 48kHz audio, it is off standard, so it is your choise.
