Does anyone know of a way to burns iso's or convert videos over a home network. The computer im trying to burn or convert from dosent have the files, so i tryed burning or converting the files over the network from the main computer. THe problem is everyitme i try to burn or convert something it wants to bring the entire file over first to the computer im using. Is there anyway to stream the file while its burning or converting instead of having to copy the entire file to the computer im using.

Presume you don't have the space for the ISO in the PC with the burner?
Easiest way would be to move the burner to the PC with the files. Failing that, not sure which burning ap you are using, but it should have a "temp" working directory configured somewhere. You could try mapping a network drive to the PC hosting the files and set the "temp" directory on the mapped drive. That may stop the PC with the burner trying to drag the whole ISO across prior to burning.
I think you would still have problems though, at work when I've tried to burn from a network drive I've run into problems and generally end up copying the file to my local hard drive.
Good luck any road. -
Oh ok thanks for the response. Tell me this anyone, is there anyway to connect a external firwire hardrive to two computers at the same time that are side by side, and have access to drive from both computers. That way i wouldnt have to share the drives over a network. Basically looking for a fast way to access my external from two computers so i can burn and convert from it with out having the pull the files off of it.

I don't know of one, but firewire is plug-nd-play so it svery simple and quick to write from PC "A" to the firewire drive, then swap it and read from PC "B".

I convert and burn files across my network all the time. Files are on one computer, I process them on another machine. or the ISO is on the other machine and I burn it on my machine. No problems so far.

Advice, if you do burn files from one PC using a burner on another, do not touch either machine whilst burning.
