  1. every time i try to burn vcds or svcds my computer locks up after

    20 to 40 minutes..i use nero 6 and this started sometime in thye last

    2-3- weeks...any clues for me?? any answers?

    Try to disable all background programs, such as screen saver and power saving setting.
    Try not to burn at highest speed.
    check disk free from error and defragment.
    Try to use quality blank disc.

    Burning a VCD shouldn't take 20 mins, you must be using Nero to encode your video as well. First off...shame on you. Nero may not be the world's worst encoder, but it's pretty close.

    Encoding is very CPU intensive and a frozen computer during encoding indicates a hardware problem to me. Ram, CPU or power supply...I'd start looking there.

    PS - The summer heat could be affecting your PC as well. Try leaving the case open and see if it helps.

  5. I alway restart my computer and then shut downall background programs, then run a quick scan disk to be sure there are no problems present and then I burn at no highter speed than 4x's. I get good quality SVCD's every time. When ever I shortcut this process I almost always have to throw away the CD. It's worth the time to do it right. javascript:emoticon('')

    Dear,

    Even I had the same problem.Check for any Memory Leak and as suggested close all other progms. or change RAM.

    I changed My RAM not increased but simply replaced.
