  1. Hello. I need a good guide for PAL SVCD to NTSC DVD. I enjoy using TMPEG DVD Source Creator and DVD Author for their simplicity. If I use DVD Source Creator to convert from pal to ntsc will I have any problems playing it in a standalone dvd player? Or do I need to re-encode using tmpeg plus first? Any help is greatly appriciated!!!!

first of all use isobuster and filter the mpeg-2 file from your SVCD onto the comp. Now load that file into dvd2avi and split it into a d2v and mpa. In tmpgenc, in the wizard choose ntsc dvd, load the d2v and the mpa and then set the resolution to what you want and the kbps and encode. Going from SVCD PAL to NTSC DVD is no problem whatsoever. In the end, you're re-encoding the file and changing the resolution so in a sense, even though the 2 files are mpeg-2, they are completely different but there should not be a problem from pal to ntsc since the resolution has to change anyways regardless.
