Amen to Japanese engineering. My Dodge (made by Mitsubishi) gets 35 MPG and about 2,000 miles per month. Just change the timing belt every 24,000 miles and it's all good.

Yep, and wouldn't trade it for the world, but still miss the Mustang. Almost got the Camero convertible, but it couldn't fit two sets of golf clubs in the trunk. The Mustang could.

1991 Ford F-250 (351 V8 ) - burned to the ground after transmission problems (caught fire)
1996 Subaru Impreza L - wrapped sideways around a utility pole at 50mph
1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD - I actually sold this one
1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS turbo - my daily driver that moonlights at the track

I've only ever driven 4WD/AWD vehicles and I don't think I'd ever get anything else. I'm pretty damn good at pushing AWD cars to their limits after many hours at the track, both paved and not. Maybe I'd get a RWD vehicle, but never FWD. Understeer blows.

My project car is a 1994 Lancia Delta HF Integrale. We've gutted the electronics and are working on the plant right now. Hope to have it retooled and running by fall. Dunno how we're going to title it here in the States though. It does look kinda like a Dodge Omni

I am a victim of my own doing...I wanted the trucks, I bought the trucks...but they both get 16 mpg...which is 6.8 Km/L

    1 gallon = 3.785 liters
    1 mile = 1.609 Km

    1 liter = .264 gallons
    1 Km = .621 miles

For those of you conversion challenged folks.

    1987 BMW 318e (loved this little 4-door!)

I forgot I had 2 Renaults in college. I had an Encore hatchback and a Reliance convertible. Those cars sucked in general, but they accelerated faster than anything. Nice French engineered acceleration system. I don't remember what years they were, but I know they were mid to late 80's models.

I had changed more than 50 cars so far LOL thats averaging about 2 cars for every year of my life but I never had more than 3 cars at once though :/ (including at least 1 in running condition ) sux to be poor :/

    The ones I like(d):

87 Chevette (coz t'was my first one, otherwise big POS lol)
82 Opel Rekord 2.2 or 2.5 (very good car it was!)
    86 Audi 5000 (Turbo!)
94 Shadow (I bought it brand new, had it for 7 years and not even one repair!)
96 Ford E-150 (fully equipped, still have it - great for fishing or camping)

edit: I lied, had only 44 cars, just counted them all lol.

Meh, got hit from behind. Not much I could do about it. Pics from the accident:
    http://4wheelracing.com/scooby/alpha.htm

On the plus side it did weather the impact pretty well. I only got some cuts from flying glass. The Impreza can take a LOT of abuse. BTW the ones we had over here at the time sucked. We didn't get a turbocharged Impreza until the WRX was released here in 2002. That accident happened 2 years earlier. The frame is pretty much the same but it just had a 2.2 liter engine in it. My current one has quite a bit more power.

fair enough then m8!!!! imprezzas are wicked although im more of an Evo fan myself!!!!! of course both are obliterated by a skyline!!!!! although i dont have an evo (im 20!!!! lol, 20 years old on an insurance group 20 car = £5K insurance!!!) i like the idea of having a lot of potential power, and a top notch chassis!!!

your right, they can take a real battering, i know a guy who was pushing it to full threshold, went off a road, dropped about 20 feet, (flipping in the air) the front left alloy took most of the force, shattering it completly but it wasn;t a right off, he was OK too!!! he is in fact a top driver, there was crap on the road hence he spun it at about 120 mph! his fault for pushing things so much of course! oh, he was in a 40 zone also!!! ooops!!!

oh- it was 400BHP as well

ever think of modding your latest imprezza man??? handy on track days!!!!!

It is modified quite a lot. Information here:
    http://4wheelracing.com/scooby/

I don't think you guys on the other side of the pond have 2.5 liter Imprezas. We've had them here since 1998. Though not turbocharged to begin with they still have quite a lot of low-end torque that all the Brit Impreza lovers are very impressed with. Mine has a turbo added though
