THAT FATHER KICKS ASS!
Of course you realize a bunch of Do-Gooders will file a lawsuit on behalf of the child. -
Let the little piss-ant save up for a new one. Bravo!

I wasn't too bad when I was a kid, though I had my fair share of trouble. I did blow up a pool shed (long story) and my dad made me mow our lawn for 4 weeks with a push mower (the one without the motor). I had to mow every other day for the entire month or I would be grounded for 2 months, even if I missed 1 day. I thought it was a bit harsh at that time, but I think I'd do the same to my kid if he did a few of the things I did.

I think parents, like the kids, are getting smarter too. A firm backhand isn't always good enough to stop the kids. You gotta do a little emotional damage to keep the child in line. At 5 yrs. old a kid might burn his hand badly on the stove, yet it still heals completely over, but at that age an event like that is emotionally tragic and the kid never goes near the stove again until he has a better understanding when he's old enough.
The kid, who's getting his PS2 sold, needs something to happen to him on the emotional level and get his F'in A** in gear. -

Again -- way to go. He may be pissed now, but he'll both understand and appreciate it later in life. Especially when he has kids of his own!! -
Discipline has nothing to do with phisical abuse (spanking, hitting..etc).
I was never spanked and my kid will never be spanked or hit.
Discipline, by teaching the right way... -

Every kid needs a different kind of discipline for different situations. I think spanking a 4 year old for knocking over a glass of water is a bit aggressive. Now a 13 year old beating on another sibling that doesn't respond to traditional non-aggressive discipline needs a butt whooping with a fresh, green branch off of an unpruned apple tree. Those switches don't break and they are smooth and long.

I do not have a problem what the mother is doing but talking about her problem's on ebay is kind of wacky if you ask me. I would not bid on that PS2. Just seem's weird.

THere have been stranger stories on eBay. You may not have seen the Ex-Wife's knickers story posted on eBay. Quite a few hits on that one.
-
yeah, i'd hit it!
oh, you don't mean that kind of hit
I was smacked when i did somethig -really- bad, and threatened with it if i was misbehaving. logical reasoning and grounding etc. didn't work till i was about 10 or 11, and of course nothing worked once i was 15 -
I think it was MOM who did the post ... the content references Husband as a third person...
I think Mom is kicking ass this time... -
I was never disciplined and I turned out OK. Both my parents are doctors so they never had time for discipline...sure I'd get yelled at once in a while for doing something wrong or getting bad grades. But other than that...no discipline for me.
Anyway, back to the ps2. The kid had it coming...what mommy and daddy buy for you, mommy and daddy can take away. Which is why I prefer to buy my own stuff. Most of my clothes, videogame consoles, and games come from my own pocket.
Also, what kind of an idiot would buy that for 122 bucks? For a few more bucks, you could buy a brand new one w/ a network adapter attatched. -
but a good talking point
"guess who used to own this PS2...."
