    I've got a Sony DCR-TRV30 and would like to get an external microphone for it. Has anyone purchased or used one that may have some recomendations on which one to buy?

    What kind of mic are you thinking about? A shotgun? And what kind of budget? There's a big difference between a $100 mic and a $500 mic. What are you doing, and how serious are you about it? The Azden SGM-X isn't bad for a $100 shotgun mic.

    I'm looking at the ECM-MSD1 High Grade Stereo and the ECM-HS1 Gun Zoom by Sony. I'm not looking to spend more than about $100 and I've found both of these for well under that.

    I'll look up the ones you guys have.
