how to turn sound volume up?

most of the dvds i have made from avi files have come out perfect, but some of them, i have to turn the sound right up on my tv to hear the audio, is there anyway i can use goldwave to increase the volume of the file before actually burning it, so that i dont have to max my volume out to hear audio, i know turning the volume up isnt a big problem and im happy with the ones i have done that require me to do this, but it can sometimes make me jump when i turn my dvd off and switch normal tv viewing on without turning volume down and the sound blasts out my tv lol

If it's low volume AC3 that's the problem, just install AC3Filter. Go to Configure>Main> Master Gain, and increase decibels to +20. Works for me. I believe Baldrick suggested it some time ago as the answer to an almost identical question.

ill try that on my next project, as i said its no major problem just can be sometimes if i forget to turn volume down, also if the sound has the occasional "pop or crackle" in it which can come through loud as hell, thanx for the help m8 much appreciated

Goldwave will help you accomplish that as well. There is a "volume" selection under "effect" You can even play it and see how it sounds before you save it. I use the meter exclusively to set the volume correctly....
