  1. I really like the SimpleDivX interface and would prefer to use this tool over the others for simplicity. The problem I am having is that audio is in sync in the beginning and then gets progressively worse throughout the video. By the end it is off by several seconds.

I have tried setting the audio to .mp3, leaving it as .ac3 (what I really want), and have done both of these at varying bitrates including leaving the .ac3 at its original 384Kbps. Nothing fixes the problem.

I have searched everywhere to no avail. Is this tool fundamentaly flawed or do I have a setting wrong

By the way, I am doing a 2-pass XviD encode with a 1400MB target file size and NO splitting.

  2. Ok, since there are no replies yet, I will continue this thread in hopes of finding an answer.

I tried DrDivX, which I do not want to use (due to the fact that I can't use the XviD codec and also can't have .ac3 audio), and it worked perfectly. Absolutely no audio sync issues.

I then tried AutoGK version 1.35 since it should give me everything I want. Unfortunately I now have audio sync issues cropping up again, not as far off as SimpleDivX but still present.

What gives? Is there a different tool that I should be using. I don't want much - just audio synced to video.

    TIA

  3. See my post under tools section for Simpledivx. I had the same problems and agree with your assessment. Nice interface, straighforward...only if it worked. I did a search through all forums for simpledivx and found a number of other posters with similar problems. I think the software needs some more work and it's not that we're all doing something wrong. Based on your post I'll try DrDivx next. Did you install the AC3 filter? From DrDivx website page:

AC3 decoders tested (in order from most reliable to least stable)
    AC3 filter ac3filter.sourceforge.net
This filter was found to work the best.
Volume levels are low, but can be adjusted in the AC3 configuration utility.
    Cyberlink AC3 decoder
    Moonlight AC3 decoder
    Intervideo AC3 decoder
This filter caused Dr. DivX to hang on certain input files.
During Batch encode, some audio tracks could be lost.
    Sonic (Ravisent) AC3 decoder
This filter caused Dr. DivX to hang on certain input files.

  4. Correction to my prior post. Just went to Divx.com and saw that AC3 capablity will be in future release...so your right it won't do that now and is of no value to me.
