  1. I'm having a problem that I can't seem to work around. I downloaded an episode of Charmed from BitTorrent, and it plays perfectly and with excellent quality on the PC. But when I go to create a DVD with it, I always get an error. It says, "Unable to complete last command because: unknown error". I've tried changing the extension, which didn't change anything, and I've attempted to encode it into Windows Media, but I got errors on that too. Seven of them at the onset of coding, to be precise.

I'd assume it was a codec conflict, except for the fact that it plays so well on my computer, which means that the proper codec must be on here. It's supposed to be an AVI file, so I can't see how that would be issue, but at least I think I've ruled it out.

I don't know what to do now, so I'm hoping some one here can point me in the right direction. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

  2. UPDATE: Currently re-encoding with TMPGENC in hopes that will work

  3. Re-encoding did not work. It's been re-encoded, but there is something on the end of the file; some sort of bad cropping or something. When I attempt to open it in Showbiz, I'm told to install windows media player, when I have nine installed on this machine.

  4. 1) Load the .AVI file (DivX-compressed or otherwise) into the most recent version of either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod

    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) Select "Check for errors"

    4) Select "Mask bad frames"

    5) Save with a new filename

Then try and import your "Repaired" AVI file in TMPGEnc.

  5. I managed to tinker with it and get a re-encoded version into MyDVD, but I had to do a few workarounds, so I'm going to try your way to save myself trouble next time

  6. I really hate to be such a pain, but when I tried to send it through VirtualDubMod, it said that there was an improper VBR audio encoding in the AVI file. It says that the current preferece is to rewrite with standard CBR headers, but that it could produce 14803 ms of skew between video and audio. It also says if this is unacceptable, I should decompress the entire audio stream and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder.

Uh, how do I do that?
