  1. I used to have an ATi All In Wonder 128, now I own a TV Wonder VE (With a Radeon card as video).

Come the release of multi-media center 7.1 ATi did something brilliant, they removed the ability to capture anything with a vertical resolution greater than 240 pixels as a quick fix to get over the fact that the cards deinterlacing sucked and interlaced video confused the hell out of end users.

I was wondering if there was anyway to regain this ability, thru 3rd party drivers, some sort of hack, or using a hammer in some unique way. I'd like to capture 720x480 fully interlaced, but I can't, Vdub can't nothing can with the current drivers. Ideas?

You traded down. That new card is not very good. The interlaced quality is not great.

  3. Reguardless, I know the hardware is capable of capturing 720x480, it's just that ATi dumbed down it's drivers in 2001. I can't exactly dig up an old disk and utalize Windows98 just for capture.

I didn't exactly trade down, I swapped the AIW128 for a Radeon two years ago, only now have I aquired the TV Wonder, which I tradded for an old hard drive. Not like I really lost any money on the purchas.
