  1. i have a couple of xvid clips witch i want to convert with tmpgenc to dvd but tmpgenc freezes and crashes wen i start to convert them ......they play in my media player ....i have k lite codecs ......tryed ffd show codecs as well same thing happens 1 of the clips has ac 3 sound ..............is there a guide i could follow or another program to use to get these converted............any help wood b gr8

  2. Funny enough I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm just working on it at the moment but if you find a solution then can you post the answer!!

    Run the file through a divx repair/fix utility before encoding to remove any bad frames. TMPGenc will crash when it encounters them.

    Make sure your direct show multimedia filter is at a high priority , Check HERE if you don't know how to do it.
    Check your files for badframes using virtualdub mp3 freeze .
    Demux the audio and save as an uncompressed wav with virtual dub , and use the wav as your audio source in TMPGenc.

    Alternatively extract the audio convert to ac3 if it isn't already (using ffmpeggui ) then convert just the video and bring the ac3 audio back in during authoring.
    THIS GUIDE will show you the steps.

    If you use ac3 it is a much smaller file size with the same quality and gives more room on the disc for video ( so better quality )
