  1. I downloaded one of the newer episodes of harvey birdman a while ago and I fianlly decided to run it through MovieID because given the size of the file (about 110 MB and 11 minutes long) the quality is almost the same as when it was first broadcast.

I ran it though MovieID and here's what it said.

    ------------------
    File Format: Audio-Video Interleaved (AVI)
    Author: Microsoft Corporation
    Web Site: www.microsoft.com

    Content: Video and Audio
    Duration: 11 min 36 sec
    Data Rate: 1336 kbps (ave)
    Video Info: 528 x 352, 29.970 fps
Audio Info: 48000 Hz, 128.0 kbps, stereo

    Video Format: unknown
    FourCC: "xvid"
This may be a new or proprietary format.
Check http://www.webartz.com/fourcc/fcccodec.htm for the FourCC code.

    Audio Format: MPEG Layer 3
    Format ID: 0x0055
    Author: Moving Picture Experts Group
    Web Site: mpeg.telecomitalialab.com
This CODEC is distributed with MediaPlayer.
    -----------------------

I really can't tell if this is indeed Xvid or if it's an offshoot of it.

Plus I don't remember all the codec's I have installed

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Get Avicodec it will give you the details , also at the click of a button it will tell you all the codecs you have installed .
    It's a great tool.
It puts an option so if you right click on a video file it will open it in avicodec for information.
