  1. Which is better? Some people says that + is better. What could go wrong with dvd-r?

    I want to burn data.
Excuse me, I don't speak english well.

    Both.

In this day and age of a variety of dual-format burners why not use both. General rumor is that + media is better for data and rewriting and - media is better for video. I use - media because I buy loads of it in bulk. The few discs I've had of + media worked fine for data but then so did the - media. I haven't noticed a difference at all between them, despite the raging debates that people have over them. I swear it's like comparing apples to apples

By the time this thread ends you'll be more confused than ever , because it's one of those questions with no right or wrong answers . It is an opinion and everyone has a different opinion.

It has been debated many times on this forum.

There's only one type of media for backing up data and that is DVD-RAM.

Ive heard rumors from a reliable source that the heads of all companies in the +RW alliance eat puppies and enslave young children. Do you want to support a format whos companies are involved in such horrible acts? DVD-R all the way!

Seriously though...G04 or RicohJPN dye, makes no difference to me. I'll gladly use DVD-R or DVD+R. Also, I prefer +RW over -RW, thats the only area I see a real difference in the media. With my 4X DVD-/+ RW drive, DVD-RW would only write at 2X, so I simply go for +RW as its got the base speed of 2.4X. I've got 3 very good Memorex +RW's I use for testing and the final copy usually finds its way onto a Ritek G04.

You must have some sort of agenda for you to post such libelous material here. It's very well known that they actually enslave puppies and eat young children.

Has anyone done a microwave comparison ?
I mean which will flare up first + or -
You would definitely want to back up to whichever took the longest.

  25. LOL! This is andyps fault! I tried a Samsung -R (BeAll) in the microwave, 1 second only because i was sure it was going to be a flare, but i had no idea! This microwave is far from the normal type, more like twice the normal power. IT FLARED, yes... BIIIIG! And smoke-belching. Sorry i have no +R coasters yet, been using +R only for short time. My digital camera is not here, so i cant show you what 1 second does to a BeAllG0004, i just say DONT TRY!

I didn't think someone would really try it.

I suppose since Thor is the God Of Thunder we should expect a bit of Lightning.

I'm going off to find a different avatar now and hide for a bit.

  29. Im no pyromaniac, only once had accident with the microwave, that was when i wanted soft butter and thought 5 second microwave would do the trick. The wrapping of the butter was some kinda metal-paper, it burned like hell, but how cold i know, Im not a housewife! And then was the time i had my first car and connected a car stereo, didnt know the wires under the dashboard could make that much smoke, so at least i learned something new. Thats about all, who here havent been boys once?
