QT audio out of synch with video with Sorensen3:

Im accumulating QT files from an AlchemyDVR card on my G4dual. I am using Sorensen3 as the compression choice for now, due to large file sizes owtherwise.

I plan to make mp4 QT files ( I think) to save this matierial ( PBS cooking showes for example)

the Alchemy folks said that Sorensen3 requires a lot of horsepower, and suggeted other CODEC but these files are too big.

can I take the QT sorensen3 file and 'move' the audio in a program like FinalCutExpress or another program I can understand before I make my final mp2 files.

I like the QT files as the slider bar is nice vs a DVD that Id have to fast forward.

the mp2 video size is fine, as Im not after DVD or DVD to TV files.,

just a way to save various cooking shows I edit in QTPro and look at from time to time on my computer.

will eventuallyh palce the files on a DVD disk or a plan CD

the final output should have read MPEG-4:

CableTV->AlchemyDVRcard->G4dual1GHZ(768RAM)-HD as QTSorensen3

audio/video synch trouble

repair?->QT MPEG-4 files to DVD data or CD data

the QT Sorensen3 files are about 1.7 GB for 30 min

the QT MPEG-4 files are about 200MB 30 min (TV 'quality')
