    Hello,

I have been trying to organize my videos this weekend and have pulled several MPEG-1 Files from VCDs. I just went into the MPEGAV folder and got the AVS files out.

Now that they are on my hard drive they are signified as DAT files rather than .mpg files. They play fine in MPC etc. but I want to put them on discs as raw MPEGs that will play on a stand alone player.

How can I change their designation to mpg or mpeg files? I have tried simply renaming them but this seems to have no effect.

    Any ideas?

    THanks,
    Mike

Use VCDGear to extract the .dat to .mpg format (Or VCDEasy - uses the same tool.)
