  1. Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem that I am having. The problem is that I keep making coasters with my dvd burner. My burner keeps saying: " POWER CALIBRATION ERROR." Also, the burning keeps making a huming sound(almost like a pager on vibrate)when the dvd is burning.

Is the media the problem, or is my machine f*#ked!

    THANKS!!!

Usually media, sometimes burner software, sometimes burner.

Try doing a forum search for "power calibration error". Here's one of the threads I came up with: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212644

    What burner do you have?
What media are you trying to burn??
    And at what speed??

This type of error is usually bad news.
I had it with my last burner (Ricoh) and eventually conceded that the burner was f@#ked after much p*#sing around with media/software/firmware, etc.
You could save yourself a lot of time and hassle by getting a new one especially if it was working fine previously and this fault suddenly occured for no apparent reason like mine.
    I wish I did !
