Valve admits that it was premature in its release hopes for Half-Life 2
I wonder why they simply didn't say so to begin with....But was the leak the main reason behind the game's delay? "No, the fundamental reason was because we underestimated the amount of work left to do and how long it was going to take, especially when the team were so demoralised after the leak." And what's still left to do on the game? "Tuning, tuning and more tuning," comes Gabe's reply.

Half Life was the last game I played that I enjoyed (as I'm not much of a gamer), so I've been looking forward to this one. I'd rather wait and get something as good as the 1st version than have something rushed and not as good, however, there is a limit to how long I'll wait before I lose interest altogether....
