123 Copy DVD won't finalize

I want to make back-up copies of commercial DVD's that I own. I purchased 123 Copy DVD by X-OOM. I applied the patch that is supposed to enable me to copy commercial DVD's. The software copys to the DVD but stops at the stage when the DVD is being finalized. It appears to stop all process when between 95 and 98% completed. I have the software set to eject from the DVD burner when it is complete. It never ejects. Burner is HP dc3000. The DVD's which would not finalize will play on my computer DVD player but not on my stand alone DVD player. I have tried copying the DVD to my hard drive and then burning it to a DVD with Sonic Record Now. This also doesn't work. Thanks for help if you can.
