Is there any way (something not TERRIBLY complicated) to basically re-assemble a DVD X Copy (2-Disc) burn so that i can squeeze it back down to 1 disc for just the movie and no extras?

    Thanks in advance.

yes, for the movie only all you have to do is copy the main movie .vob files into one directory. then rename them so they are in order starting with vts_01. then use ifoedit to create new .ifo's
then get vts sectors and you will have just the main movie that should be playable on most DVD players

I have just the movie VOBs and the new IFOs together in one folder but the main movie is 5.5GB. How can I get it into DVDShrink so I can squeeze it down to 1 disk?

Run DVDShrink, open the folder with the movie in it and shrink it.

DVDShrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Invalid data in file D":\DVD\tmp\temp\VTS_01_6.VOB"

This is the last VOB. It plays fine in RealPlayer. Not sure what I'm doing wrong (or not doing). 4 VOBs per disc for movie (1st is menu, only copied that from disc 1), then renamed the others in order from VTS_01_0.VOB through VTS_01_6.VOB in order. Created IFOs in IFOEdit and did get VTS sectors, but still can't open in Shrink.

Why don't you just copy the files off the original disc and then compress them?

I wish I could, but the original is cracked and I'm really not looking forward to buying it again.

  8. Easy way to fix this, use TMPGEnc DVD Author. Open your VOBs, create a menu if you want, then hit Output. This creates your new VIDEO_TS folder. Launch DVD Shrink, open files, point it to folder just created. DVD Shrink will now compress your video and create a new folder and even burn the disc if you want.

You will lose the original menu's but you will have the video on one disc.
