  1. i thought i wrote this a few minutes ago, but i guess i closed the window before submit the message...

I encoded an AVI to VCD. Almost perfect, but the audio was lost. So i did my best and now i have it in mp2 format (81mb). the video is great in mpeg1 (414 mb).

In ffmpeg, i used the tools panel to multiplex the 2 files, but now that they are muxed, the video is gone. The file is bigger then it was (515 mb) but the screen is always black.

I tried to use missingmpegtools but it require the devlloper tools witch i don't have, so i can't try other avenues.

    Any help?

    Thanks

Is this only on QuickTime Player, or other players as well? Do tell how VLC handles it. Did you try a set top box?

Most likely QuickTime doesn't like/understand the header fully, but other players may handle it differently.

Gumby has a demux/mux function, which may or may not work around the problem with your file. I'm sure there are more multiplex tools out there.
