    Get a stabilizer or TBC and put it between the player and the recorder.

    I think so. Search this forum. You don't need a full-blown $300 TBC to remove macrovision - there are several devices less than $100 that'll do the trick, but you have to watch out for the ones that soften or damage the video in other ways.
