audio question about mpg2

will tmpgenc plus convert a captured DV signal audio into mpeg2 , if selected, rather than PCM, and if it does it gives me more room on a dvdr to use a better bitrate for conversion of the video and therefore better end picture quality.............

Sure, I convert all my DV audio to MP2 with TMPGEnc encoder. It's not a standard for NTSC DVD's but it works on most players. AC3 is more compatible.
