    I was told that all dvd are recorded it High Definition?Is this true if not what is the difference between DVD and HD as far as the picture quality?

    Don't confuse digital with HDTV.

    Then again it depends on the meaning of " high definition ". Higher than VHS !

    Although not actually High Definition, when played with a progressive scan player, an acceptable quality image can be obtained on an HDTV. As early as next year, HD-DVD, one of several new formats, will begin appearing. HD-DVD will have a data capacity of up to 30GB.
