Moderators shouldn't be allowed this luxury

I can not believe the arrogance of a moderator replying to a compliant made against himself, regardless of either the situation or the justification.
Regardless of whether I agree with him/her or not they should not, under any circumstances, respond to a complaint made against them presonally.
I have no doubt any other moderator would have come to the same conclusion but it is pure arrogance to reply directly to a message.
If I make a complaint against a moderator in the future for say, unfair treatment, how on earth can I expect impartiallity?
That's simply my opinion and the reason I've posted it in feedback, I've done as I wished and made my opionion known.

I'm not Familiar with the "Story" above, but I agree with your conclusion, a user should feel free to complain without having the one he complained about have a higher hand then him.

Others should review the issue and check who is at fault.

Perhaps we should simply allow other moderators to respond to the complaint, any moderators, or is that too hard or too unreasonable?
I don't think your suggestion is workable my friend, I'd like to think there's more than a handful of moderators who aren't afraid to rock the boat and stand up for what is right, but I'm not so sure

I think the trouble with your suggestion is that the moderators will start second guessing one another. Say I make a decision and then tgpo decides he doesn't agree then changes it and then Craig Tucker comes along and agrees with my original stance and reverts it back.

If it goes to a group of moderators or Baldrick then that would be the final word in the matter and the above wouldn't happen, also you wouldn't get in-fighting between the moderators which, as I've seen on other boards is never pretty.

I think it was probrably not a wise post to make as a moderator and left offline open to attack. Personally I would not have posted it as a mod, but would not think much of it posting as a member. I think there is a line which you should not cross when posting on a message board and this line is stipulated by Baldrick in the forum AUP. I also think however that this line is in a slightly different position for moderators compared to regular users. We are not above the forum rules far from it, we must obide by them and watch what we post even more carefully than a forum member. It does not look good when a mod gets into a slanging match with a forum member.

Whilst I have my own opinion of all moderators, including offline, I prefer to keep them to myself, but I think he was simply trying to make the point that that kind of lanaguage is unnecessary.
Sure, he could have done this with five f' words and missed out the Jesus comment (why he did this I'll never know) but I suppose that's where some people's 'people skills' kick in more than others.
I don't particularly think that now having a laugh about it in the 'swearing thread' is particular wise either, especially considering the extra resonsibilty the moderators elect to take on when the accept the posistion, but my thread is about the impartially of the response to your complaint, not the post.
It looks as though your complaint has been answered, both in the complaint itself and in the 'swearing thread', unfortunately

I think if you have a problem with a moderator you have to take it up with Baldrick. I can only speak for myself as a mod, but I do not think I have the power to reprimand another moderator, only Baldrick can make the call in this situation. I can express an opinion on a post (which I believe I did) but I can not take any disciplinary action.

I don't really see the problem Chris, offline has acted, IMO, like an <edited by will hay even before first posting >, and you've reported him to Baldrick.
You have to accept what Baldrick decides.
Hopefully we now have 100% of moderators who know they shouldn't repsond to complaints about themselves (whether it's bloody written or not, this is comnon sense), rather than the 362 out of 363 before this unfortunate episode.

I don't really know what you mean by posse, I made a post and poeple responded, in the main agreeing with me.

All I have been trying to say for far too long is I don't think it's a good idea for moderators to be judge on complaints made against them.
I refuse to say it again, I fugured you missed it last time, preferring to assume it a personal attack but there it is...
....it is nothing to do with the contents of your post. which has been dealt with by Baldrick in accordance with the AUP and his guidlines, ie. if you don't like the decision of a moderator you report him.
Hopefully, and hoping against hope here, you offline, have now seen it is best to leave the complaints directed at yourself to others.
