I can not believe the arrogance of a moderator replying to a compliant made against himself, regardless of either the situation or the justification.
Regardless of whether I agree with him/her or not they should not, under any circumstances, respond to a complaint made against them presonally.
I have no doubt any other moderator would have come to the same conclusion but it is pure arrogance to reply directly to a message.
If I make a complaint against a moderator in the future for say, unfair treatment, how on earth can I expect impartiallity?
That's simply my opinion and the reason I've posted it in feedback, I've done as I wished and made my opionion known.
Thanks for the opportunity to speak freely
Will Hay

tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have.

Perhaps we should have a grievance thread where if you disagree with an action taken by a moderator you can submit it and then it goes to a panel of moderators or perhaps just Baldrick to decide if it was warranted.
Just thinking out loud.
Also I like your avatar and message.

I'm not Familiar with the "Story" above, but I agree with your conclusion, a user should feel free to complain without having the one he complained about have a higher hand then him.
Others should review the issue and check who is at fault.Email me for faster replies!

I don't think your suggestion is workable my friend, I'd like to think there's more than a handful of moderators who aren't afraid to rock the boat and stand up for what is right, but I'm not so sure

Damn Will, fixing your BBCode is a full time job.
I think the trouble with your suggestion is that the moderators will start second guessing one another. Say I make a decision and then tgpo decides he doesn't agree then changes it and then Craig Tucker comes along and agrees with my original stance and reverts it back.
If it goes to a group of moderators or Baldrick then that would be the final word in the matter and the above wouldn't happen, also you wouldn't get in-fighting between the moderators which, as I've seen on other boards is never pretty.

I blasted that moderator, Offline with his response like that. He is a disgrace of a mod, his behavior.
He thinks he can respond like that on a complaint on himself. Where is the independence on that complaint?
Does he think of who will read his post like that as so offensive with the F-words all down like that having the Jesus Christ blasphemous messages at the bottom and any child can read this?
I think Offline should modify his post and also to the other person of doing the same as a pointless post. This as so stupid of two posts.
I just made a complaint to Baldrick.I am a computer and movie addict

I think it was probrably not a wise post to make as a moderator and left offline open to attack. Personally I would not have posted it as a mod, but would not think much of it posting as a member. I think there is a line which you should not cross when posting on a message board and this line is stipulated by Baldrick in the forum AUP. I also think however that this line is in a slightly different position for moderators compared to regular users. We are not above the forum rules far from it, we must obide by them and watch what we post even more carefully than a forum member. It does not look good when a mod gets into a slanging match with a forum member.
Edit :
Oh by the way Will, kiss my arse

Well said Craig, part of being a moderator is taking the diplomatic route where possible.

I don't particularly think that now having a laugh about it in the 'swearing thread' is particular wise either, especially considering the extra resonsibilty the moderators elect to take on when the accept the posistion, but my thread is about the impartially of the response to your complaint, not the post.
It looks as though your complaint has been answered, both in the complaint itself and in the 'swearing thread', unfortunately

I see your point Chris and agree that mods shouldn't engage in personal attacks or deal with complaints that arise about themselves.
You said in a previous post that you made a complaint to Baldrick so for now I think it's best if we let him decide the matter.

You have to accept what Baldrick decides.
Hopefully we now have 100% of moderators who know they shouldn't repsond to complaints about themselves (whether it's bloody written or not, this is comnon sense), rather than the 362 out of 363 before this unfortunate episode.

@ Will Hay
Will Hay has an ongoing grievance with me apparently about
a thread I rightfully pulled him and another poster up on. I'm
happy to shake his hand on this and let the past rest - even
now, after this attempt at hiring a posse so to speak
@ Chriscjgs
You are entitled to your opinion.
@ jaxxboss
I agree. Keep things in context and, for goodness sake, have fun.
@ Craig.
I agree with you.

You are doing yourself no favours whatsoever my young friend, I don't have a posse to call on, I only expect well-balanced and well-thought out opinion from the poeple here and in the main, Iget it from everyone.
That is all I ask.
I happened to agree with you in your post, I would never have dreamt of reporting it, you were quite right in what you said although it was unneccessary insofar as it warranted only maybe five (ten perhaps?) f' words, and none of the Jesus comments.
My post here would have been the same had any moderator responded to his own post, but as you're intent on proving the conspiracy I won't stand in your way my niave young friend.
You can only learn from your mistakes.
But oh, no, wait....
...are you bullish as a result of Baldrick's agreement in the complaints thread?
But offline...
..offline, offline, offline, as I said, I agreed with you too.
What amazes me is you seek to challenge me on this and agree with everyon else.
I simply raised the point that moderators shouldn't respond to complaints made about them, and you seem to agree with everyone who says that except me.
Now, my maturity-challenged friend, who really holds the grudge?

Simply enough, okay-dokey, although at the very least I'd like to think some lessons which clearly were known by some have now been learnt by others.
Will
without hesitation because I did nothing wrong.
Repeat: Nothing wrong :P

I refuse to say it again, I fugured you missed it last time, preferring to assume it a personal attack but there it is...
....it is nothing to do with the contents of your post. which has been dealt with by Baldrick in accordance with the AUP and his guidlines, ie. if you don't like the decision of a moderator you report him.
Hopefully, and hoping against hope here, you offline, have now seen it is best to leave the complaints directed at yourself to others.
