please help a stressed out newbie

im finding it hard to backup my dvd i spent a score today on software that didnt work.all i want to do is add a dvd menu to my vob/dvd files.a menu that i can create and thats not to hard.also iv got linux now and iv got no software for it.is there dvdbackup software for linux?

Try searching the Guides for "Making advanced DVD Menues"....
Also see under Author as i can see a section titled MENU.....
As to Linux i have no idea but would guess again at a search HERE would yeild some results....
Would also recomend a better title to your post, something that relates to the topic...

Well im sorry if you didnt like my title but i am sick to death with dvd,s as iv wasted more then i care for because of GAY NERO and other software they dosnt finalize the disk.iv wasted so far 20disks.well i suppose its a expensive way of getting something to put you cuppa tea on top of

<chuckle> Put it down to the cost of your education. We ALL wasted money at the beginning but if we had any sense we learned from it and moved on. Read the guides posted on this web site and ingest and use what you learn and before long you'll be burning good backups.

For the most part burning coasters are the fault of the user. If you are seriously tired of wasting discs buy one single dvd rw and use that any time you are not sure if what you're doing will work. Thats what I do when I'm trying out new stuff. As for nero I've never had a problem with it but I normally just use it to burn image files. I would also recommend tmpg author for what you're trying to do.

Just because you have been careless and become infected dont take it out on me....
But of course you wont scan your system will you as someone is giving you some helpful advice.....That's if you have any virus scanner to use...
I know a few people like you at work they are always have problems with their systems but never take any advice on how to fix as they always know better but never quite seem to be able to fix the problems either...One even bought a new system just because they had a problem like yours. In that they were careless and caught a virus...Took their old system off them for £10 as they didnt want it....Removed the virus and sold it for £150 to someone else at work....Should have seen the look on their face when they found out all it took was 20 mins of scanning with Mcafee (Like they were told) to fix a problem they threw £1000 at to fix....

sorry i didnt mean it like that.i got solo antivirus today and it found 138 infected files.it totaly ate nero,aol,ms word ect.in the end i wiped everything from my pc,put it back in and put solo back in now everything is fine:i hope"
wish i could get 150 for my pc lol.hopefully nero will work and i wont have to waste anymore blank media.sorry again.

Just installed Easy media 7, the newest package from Roxio, and all I can say is Superbbbbbbb. The interface and tools r so user friendly, I give it a 10 so far.

WeLL My DVD / PC is not welll atall burning gets stuck at 37% i tried a new dvd burner and software but no joy.please help.i use nero and dvd shrink.iv got 1day to sort this problem

Rip & shrink with DVDShrink.
Make image with imgtools classic
Burn with DVDDecrypter.

Wonder if its a buffer under run problem. Do you have plenty of free space on your H/D ?
What other programs do you have running while burning ? such as virus scanners etc or other background programs that could be eating away at system resources. If you run Task Manager while burning how high is the green bar and page file usage ?
I burn fine on a duron 750 but that is all it does no other programs running at all....
