I do as I usually do, rip to HDD with smart ripper. But when I try to resize with instantDVD, or rip main movie with dvdfab, it tells me its aborted b/c it has detected CSS encryption. I've done this maybe 30-40 times now, and it just happened to me 3 times, any suggestions?

Make sure that InstantDVD isn't looking at the disc in your DVD-ROM.
ICBM target coordinates:
26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W -
The only place that it could find encryption is on a "pressed" DVD. A CSS key exists no where else except in the Burst Control Area of the lead-in area of a DVD.
Either that, or that program is crap.ICBM target coordinates:

But I've tried 3 programs already, and all say the same thing. I know what ur saying, cause smart ripper "rips" it to the HDD, hence no more css...but this is weird...I'm wondering if I can use decss on the copy thats already on my hard drive, but I can't make decss open a HDD file

I've used DVD Fab, it is very hard to get it to look at anything besides your dvd drive.
Basically what I had to do was create a DVD Image with DVD Decrypter (removing the CSS of course) and then mount it on a virtual drive.
I was then able to work fine.
I remember one time I had to manually input a CSS code into some program.
