1 probelm, 1 question

Okay I have a problem. I'm a cast member for the Rockyhorror Picture Show's shadow cast in orlando. Well we tape most of our performances to improve or to laugh at. well we are trying to put together a dvd of a video tape that our cast director made. well I have a dvd recorder and i recorded it on a dvd. but the menu and everthing sucks. I need to help to edit the video and get it on a dvd. I have created an ok menu with easy cd creator 6 but i cant get the movie off of the cd r+ and on to my computer as an mpeg or avi file (whatever will play in most dvd players) can some one help me?

and my question is what is the best program to create awesome menus for dvds? preferable free.

Can you still get hold of the source material? That may be the best way to re-edit/author it.

You may be able to use isobuster to get the files. Another alternative is DVDDecrypter in file mode, then enable stream mode.

Nothing free is going to give you even mediocre results in authoring, though you may be able to get by with trial software from Ulead or DVDLab.

What setup do you have? It's not in your profile. Do you have firewire? a DVD burner?

I have a dvd burn on my computer, but i have a dvd recorded hooked up to my vcr. the original copy is a vhs tape. i recorded it on to a dvdr+ to get it on my computer to create the menus for it.

i forgot to menchan, i need to edit the video as well. so i basically need to rip it into like and avi or mpeg to edit it(need a program for that) and covert it back and add it to my dvd with menus that i need to create.
