    Hi,

For those interested on using Proshow Gold (version 2 is out ) in order to build slideshows and burn on DVD ( and also as VCD or SVCD ), I would like to start this topic so we can exchange tips and tricks on using this software.

I will start with the first tip, taken from another thread, applied when using the "CREATE VIDEO" dialog box :

In order to achieve better video quality , try unchecking the "Apply anti-flicker filter to video" option .

I would like to hear your opinion about the "Desaturate images to" option and it's setting ( percentage ).

Also, has anyone tried using the custom setting for DVD video, in order to set the bitrate higher than the default 7500 setting ( although I think this is pretty much satisfying ) ?

I am sure there will be many other issues to discuss and exchange ideas.

Please post your findings and suuggestions here.

I hope I am not the only one around using ProShow Gold 2.

I'm using the Create Video File option, in order to create the MPEG2 file which I will then import on the DVD authoring software that I use.

On "Video Format Preset" I chose the Custom option instead of the DVD option ( which has fixed value for bitrate ). I then set the bitrate to whatever value I like.
BUT the final MPEG2 file has audio as 44KHz instead of the standard 48KHz produced when I choose DVD option, even having made sure that the format is set to MPEG2 .
This causes the MPEG2 to be rejected and reencoded on my DVD authoring software.

Anyone know how to make Proshow set audio as 48KHz when working with Custom option ?

Also, I would like to hear your opinions about the best setting (value ) for the "Desaturate images to" option.

I'm curious if you've used MemoriesonTV and if so, how does ProShow Gold compare?

    Yes I have tried MOT.
But I'm not so interested on features like Ken Burns effects and others.
My main goal is to produce a DVD with the best qaulity possible, and menus to access specific groups (albums) of photos.
You can find comparisons between MOT and PSG here :

    Hello ,

Can anyone using Proshow try the settings above for Create Video File option and check the resulting audio frequency ?
