"Maxwell" (sic) 25 packs are finally on sale at futureshop. I believe the -R discs are MXL RG02 and the +R are RicohJPNR01. Both excellent.

    See it HERE.

Futureshop is retarted and they have been labeled "MAXWELL 25 pack 2X DVD-R" and same for DVD+R. Can I get my Maxwell black, with no sugar

Excellent, Thanks. For anyone in the Toronto area(don't think they do mailorder ) You can order 25 pack of PRODISC 4x here www.mingtechcomputers for $32.00. Just in case they sell out of Maxells at Futureshop.

Just bought 2 spindles. 1 each of DVD-R and DVD+R

    DVD-R = MXL RG02
    DVD+R = RICOHJPNR01

Now the interesting bit. I bought the 25 pack spindles for $34 each. Then I went to walmart since I know they also carry the Maxell media. The Canadian Walmart has 15 Pack Maxell spindles (unlike the 25-pack of futureshop) at $25.

HOWEVER, the 15 pack Maxell DVD+R says: MADE IN TAIWAN
The 25 pack MAxell DVD+R that i just bought says: MADE IN JAPAN.

Both have the media code ID of RICOHJPNR01.

    Otherwise the packaging is identical.
(The DVD-R's are all Made in Japan, both the 15 and 25 pack).

Not sure if there would be a difference in media. The +R burn beautifully at 8x and the -R at 4x.

    Cheers.
