I was wondering how the quality of video and audio thru a cat-5 is? I'm wondering if it's possible to send the video out from my satellite reciever to my ethernet? also How would I record the A/V thru ethernet? also is there a way of possibly capturing the transport stream thru ethernet? I would like to capture either the stream itself or be able to capture at a faster speed then 720x480 4mbps. I've seen some r6 to cat-5 adapters so I've just been thinking about this. Maybe the wide band data port could be used in some way.

i dont think it will work, you may try Terk's leapfrog home networking system or similar products, works through telepone lines or cat5, basically it digitizes the audio/video signal by the transmitter then feeded to ur data line then to the receiver which converts the signal to analog which can be hooked up to ur TV with RCA cables, it does degrades the pic quality a liitle bit though.
