I just wanted to say thank you for turning me on to this show. I have seen a number of favorable comments about the show so I recently started watching the reruns on Adult Swim. It's funny as hell and I have come to enjoy it immensely. I don't think I would have ever given it a shot were it not for all the good things I read here about it. Thanks again. Here's a little GIF I made:
Anyone care to guess which episode it's from?

It is good isn't it ? I've just picked up Season 3 on DVD from Play.com only £10.99 !!

Do you want good news? The faimly guy straight to DVD movie is currently under production(stewie realizes he's gay) and there's talk of another season with fox.
If you just started watching, keep at it...there are plenty of hilarious episodes. -

I've watched it from the first time it premiered on Fox. Great satirical humor and nothing is too sacred to be skewered. Sure, it seems to step over the line from time to time, but that's part of it's appeal. I hope they don't water it down when it returns to TV.
Looking forward to more episodes later this year...hopefully.Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny -

Yeah, I remember that one, they showed it a few days ago. It's from Yakov Smirnoff - Russian comedian that made some bucks a few years back making USSR jokes. He's kind of faded a bit now. A friend of mine in the Valley (San Fernando Valley, if you don't live in California) knows him. I wanted to meet him, but I'm quite a ways from that area now and it's too far to drive for a social visit.
Anyway, when they showed that episode a few nights ago, my wife says "what does that mean?" when that joke came up. Usually she gets it, but I guess this was a little to abstract for her. Now she gets it. She just loves the show.
Reminds me of another couple of Yakov jokes:
"In Russia we have two channels: On Channel 1, is nothing but Soviet Propaganda. On Channel 2, is a man that says "Turn back to channel 1".
"In America, you have the "Love Boat", in Russia, we have the "Love Barge". (You can tell this is a few years ago, he's still talking about an old show)Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny -
Yakov gets off an airplane and see's a sign that reads "America loves Smirnoff". Yakov muses "What a country".
"Your mother wears combat boots"! Yakov replies: "Well, she does".
Christ, I think I even watched his short-lived "What a Country" sitcom. -

There are plenty of examples of USSR jokes on FG...
How about the one where the russian family is having dinner and they name off several dicators in ordinary conversation and then start dancing on the table.
"Go ahead dear, show him your MARX".

That was a good one. "Fast animals, Slow children" -

When I first read of the idea of Stewie possibly being gay it seemed a little absurd. Then it dawned on me that it's no more absurd than a baby speaking with a British accent with plans of world domination. :P

It's no more odd than a cocktail drinking talking dog. In fact, the talking baby/talking dog thing is why I never gave the show a shot in the first place. Once I actually gave the show a chance I quickly embraced the ideas, so by that rationale the same will probably be true when Stewie's revelation is brought to fruition.

I know what you mean. Judging by your avatar, I see you're a south park fan...you should know that utter nonsense is what makes a show so funny.

I can understand the gay plot change, since there's not a thing in the world that isnt suddenly gay (tv, movies, books and all kinds of stuff). If thats the reason, its weird that a show as original and innovative as Family Guy would lower itself to be just like everything else on TV.
