  1. Hi all,

I need a bit of advice please,

I've downloaded 24 epsiodes in .mpg format and they play on my PC through WMP fine, what I want to do is burn them onto DVD+RW which I've done, but when I put the disc in my dvd standalone player it says no disc. I have tried playing the disc in my pc and its fine, would I need to have a region free dvd player in order for this to work?

I've tried to search through this vast website for help but I am really confused with all the terms and don't really know what I'm looking for.

Any help would be really appreciated, oh my my DVD player does support DVD+RW.

    Thanks
    Susan

You have to author them to DVD, VCD or SVCD format.

You can't just burn the video files on the disc and it play in your stand alone.

You need to determine exactly what kind of file you have too. Open one the mpegs with VideoToolbox and find out what resolution and bitrate it has. Also, would you be content with putting the mpegs on several CD's, or are you trying to put them on DVD's?

I think you may be talking about warez. Downloading copyrighted material is illegal.

That being said, make sure your standalone can play burned discs. I still have an old one that won't play anything burned (cd-r, dvd+/-r, etc)

Also, you may want to read the rules:

Most fundamental questions are answered on the How To's on this site.

    Use the Forum search feature.
Using the search can yield rich rewards as most questions have already been previously answered.

Do not post the same topic on several forums.
Please do not cross post, once is enough.

Please try not to "bump" your topic.
Replying to your own topic to get it to the top is annoying. Try to have some patience, this is a bulletin board, not IRC. It may take some time (e.g., one or two days) before someone can answer your query or question.

Could you post a link to this site? I'd certainly like to see what they're offering.

I took it to mean that she downloaded episodes of the show "24".

  12. Yes the show '24'.

The link to the website is [DELETED]

Please be careful in future - the link you provided was to
a well known warez portal. I did issue you with a formal warning
but decided to remove it as I believe you did not understand
the situation and made an honest mistake.
