I've been experimenting with XMPEG for most of the day, fiddling with this setting and that setting, basically just to work out what settings I should use when ripping from DVD to .AVI DivX.
I've almost worked out what seems to be best. But, I have one problem that's really annoying that I can't seem to fix -- if I rip a clip from any DVD at it's original resolution (720X480 NTSC for example, or whatever its resolution is), the resulting ripped clip(s) jitters and stutters during playback, but not at various points, it stutters and jitters whenever it wants to). I'm sure the computer is not the problem as I can play other full resolution clips I have on hand with no problem.
Lower resolution rips (around 320x240-ish or lower for example) plays back with no problems. Rips any bigger than 320x240-ish have the stutter and jitter problems.
Can anyone help me with my problem?
