I have a clip in a project that is fully recognized by TDA (from start to finish, video and audio). And I have created a bunch of chapters in it. The chapters are recgonized and I can click to the last chapter and last frame in the editing screen.
However, when I author the clip to DVD (and play it on my TV), the last chapter is #50 and the title ends. The help file says 99 chapters are possible.
What could be the problem? I have started from scratch twice, there is nothing wrong with the orignal clip, TDA "sees" it ok, it's just the authoring that goes bad.
Thanks,
Owen

If your clip is only 50 minutes long and you choose to put in 99 chapters then tda might be just putting in a chapter every minute.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
I had a total of 73 chapters, only recognized up to 50....the clip itself is close to 90 min. long.
As I said, in the chapter cut edit, the whole clip and timecode is recognized. The only problem is with the output.

v8z,
After what you had described, it sounds like a bug to me. So I guess you should send an e-mail to TMPGEnc DVDAuthor's people to report this, and see what they can help you out.

Ahh well, if it's a bug, there's not I can do except as you suggested.
Thanks!

No, not yet, but if it doesn't play on my own player there's really no point. I'm re-encoding the source clip, etc. to see if anything changes.

When you put clips closer than 5 minutes apart, you're asking for troulbe.

Thanks Lordsmurf,
I thought it might be that in the beginning and started deleting chapters. Although...I've never had a problem with it before.

I must have re-authored this project 5 0r 6 times already, and I'm convinced it's the clip itself and not TDA.
Last nite I reauthored just the single clip in a new project, used the Add Chapter Every So Often function (set it to 15min) and I still get the same problem.
Anyone know a good format checker for VCD files? Illegal frames, bit rates, etc? The source file is actually FROM a VCD...
Thanks,
Owen
