  1. I am trying to export a mov (720x576) to DivX AVI from QT Player. I just bought DivX pro. There I have three Options for the sound compression. But none of them works. The final DivX AVI always has kkkkrrrs sounds - i.e. you donīt hear anything but kkkrrrss (on my mac - OsX 10.2.8 - as well as on the dvd player).

What am I doing wrong? It seems I need the AVI divX format to play on my dvd player. Could someone please help me - thank you very much.

When you open your QT movie and press command-J, what type of audio does it have?

  4. ...sorry, just made some new tests - and seems, that I finally found out:

If you export a movie (dv 720x576, +16mill. colors, audio 44,1) from QT Player to AVI DivX (latest pro Version) the movie should not have more than one video tracks. If the QT movie has more than one video track the final DivX AVI will have sound problems.
You automatically will get another video track if you for ex. appleC - appleV paste a picture or part of the movie into the movie. The pasted part seems to always have 32.000 colours, even if you copied it from a movie with 16Mill. colours. This results in a track with 16mill colors and a track with 32.000 colors.
But if you paste something into a 32.000 color movie your movie will remain a one video, one audio track movie.
Strange, but this is the reason. Of course I would rather export directly from Premiere or from FCE, but there is no divX to AVI.
