  1. I am about to purchase a new monitor. During the research process, I noticed something as 0.25mm - 0.28mm Trio Dot Pitch technology. Does anyone know anything about this? What does it really mean?

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

A simple defintion of the term:

    Trio Dot Pitch

The distance from the center of one dot, or in the case of a tension mask type display, one bar, to the center of the dot of the next closest dot of the same color. Dot pitch gives a general idea of the monitor's ability to produce sharp images: the smaller the dot pitch, the sharper the image. It must be noted, however, that the focusing ability of the display is also an extremely important determining factor.

Obviously, the closer the dots are together, the finer the "grain" of the picture will be, that's why when shopping for a monitor, you should look for the smallest dot pitch available in the price range you are in (among other criteria). On flat shadow mask CRT design, the dot pitch is variable.
For example, 0.25mm trio dot pitch = 0.24 to 0.28mm variable dot pitch and 0.20 to 0.25mm horizontal.
