new sound card

Bought a new soundcard today thinking that
was the cause of my no sound problems, but
it dont seem to have helped.
Audio out on capture card to audio in on the soundcard,
it's an audigy card, i'm getting sound playing videos but
no sound when i capture using virtualdub, even when i use
wintv i still get no sound when i capture.
I aplogise for asking the same question over and over.
