    Hi all,

    In the past, when I still used to deal with the "worst sw in the world", a.k.a. known as ATI MMC, it wrote a folder at my capture HD named "ATI MMC", there's absolutely nothing inside it - yes, I've checked "show hidden files";

    Of course I quit this crap sw months ago, but the damn folder is still there at my HD, whenever I try to delete it, Windows says it's in use and can't be deleted, and bla-bla-bla;

    I've noticed it's checked as "read-only", but if I uncheck it and try to delete, I realize it has been checked again (maybe the sw put a ghost to manage Windows ? :P ) as "read only", e.g., I just can't delete it !

    Does anyone out there knows how to get rid of the undesired folder ?

    Any Canadians out there ? According to Canada's law, how many years would I stay in prison if I travel there and knock down the face of the ATI idiot that wrote this crap ? :P :P

    Thanks,

    Zetti

  2. I can only tell you that as long as MMC is on your computer that folder will be there. Even if you delete it, it will be there the next time you boot up.

    I have the same type folder with with pinnacle capture card called 'Auxillary Files' on the designated capture drive. The system places it there when I open the Pinnacle software. It doesn't use any space so don't worry about it. At some point, the software will need that folder.

    I imagine if you deleted your cookie folder it would be back the next time you rebooted. It's built into the software. I think you will find a lot of empty folders if you look hard.
    If it works, don't fix it.

    I deleted mine.

    Drag to trash can. Hold SHIFT and then right-click, EMPTY.

    Thanks to all that replied, yes, German buddies are welcome :P

    I changed the HD this afternoon, actually cut/pasted all wanted folders to the new HD and left only that unuseful folder there - MMC doesn't write files to it like Premiere, Media Studio and other sw does to their respective folders;

    Then, I tried formatting it - Windows refused to make it cause the HD was "in use"....

    So, I loaded XP boot CD and forced its formating, that's the only way it worked;

    Thanks to all,

    Zetti
