  1. I have used TMPGEnc Author to put 3 movie MPEG 1 files on one DVD. I created the menu, listing 3 tracks, one for each movie. Everything looks like I did it right. When I save them and get to the DVD Writing Tool to burn it to a DVD-R, it says my VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS only add up to 1.9mb in size... Shouldn't it be around a 4Gig file? Or is it supposed to be this way? If I just go ahead and push the "write DVD" button, will it come out correctly?

  2. write to a rw disk.

Or check the file sizes of the 3 files you entered into TDA and see if they add up to what TDA is reporting..... IF you didn't do any editing of same after they were entered into TDA.

I quit using this tool. It is not to-spec on recent versions.

  4. Unfortunately, I don't own any blank DVD-RW discs....

When I first add the files to the program, and before I tell it to create the Video-TS and Audio-TS stuff, their sizes are listed correctly (about 4.2 gig total). But when I go to write them, it says the total both of those files is 1.9mb....

What other authoring / burning tool would you recommend to use for getting my MPEG 1 files onto a disc???? (Preferably one I can download)

  5. look over in the l/h column under tools > author.. there are a number of apps there. Look for those that are trialware (at least).

not sure exactly what lordsmurf is referring to.. I've used TDA for a long time w/o burn size problems

but do get a cuppla rw disks. They are ideal for testing out new apps/methods/problems.

Just right click on the VIDEO_TS folder and check the size and see if it shows 4 gigs.
