I just upgraded my dd203 from 2.3 to 2.5 and the problems began. Worked pretty well with 2.3, but when I upgraded to 2.5 it won't even begin to burn a DVD. I did burn 2 cd with no problems. Everything looked good with the flash, but must be something wrong. I'm using CloneDvd with AnyDVD, on an XP p4 system. Any ideas as to what I should try now? I went back to the 2.3 and it does work now, but what's up with the 2.5? The reason I went to the 2.5 was that many of my copies could not be read with my Pioneer or Optorite drives. They did however work fine in my old Apex player. Sure could use some help from the Optorite experts here. Thanks

I must be the only one with a problem with this upgrade. Don't understand why 2.3 works fine and 2.5 won't work at all?

What media were you using ?
I've just looked at the DVD-R media compatibility list on Optorite's website, and there are some which have been removed in this new fw version.
Maybe your's is one of these? -
I use Memorex 4x +R and TDK 4x +R. I have never used any -R yet. I get the same problem with both types, but the 2.3 works fine.

how well does that feature work that lets you cram more megs than 700 on a cd-r?
I have wondered about that.

Reflash the drive. It's possible it didn't take the first time.
