I apologize in advance for beating a dead horse.
Video quality is excellent coming from the camcorder (not a single frame is dropped), but audio is excessively choppy. I have used multiple programs including AmCap, DvApp, Vegas Video, and Pinnacle Studio 7 with different results (deseleting A/V sync of course), but none were anywhere close to satisifactory. I have also tested the camcorder on multiple computers with multiple programs, with similar results.
With DvApp for example, it's not necessary to capture in order to preview the audio and video. If I open the viewfinder, I can simultaneously find that the audio is clear coming from the camcorder, but is choppy at the computer speakers. Playback is perfect from RCA outs.
Is there any guidance you can offer? What other troubleshooting might be helpful? Thank you, and it's greatly appreciated.

What about trying different camcorder or cable ?
Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
Good thinking.
Have used different cables, but can't find a loaner Digital8 camcorder. That is definately a priority I'm trying hard to meet. Thanks!
