  1. Hello,

I've had no luck finding the Pioneer dvr-107d under the DVD-Writers (search) section of this website. Does anyone know where I can find info on this burner? So far it's burnt all coasters with plenty of buffer under-runs and it completely sucks. I upgraded the firmware to 1.13 but that didn't help anything.

  2. Also, FWIW, I have the A07 (retail version) and haven't experienced any problems whatsoever. Started out with firmware 1.10 and am now at 1.12.

  3. Out of curiousity, what software do you use to burn with this writer?

I'm using Roxio CD & DVD Creator 6. Also tried burning from Adobe Encore with no luck whatsoever. Tried DVD-R and DVD+R media.

  4. try nero 6 or dvd decrypter, both work fine with my 107 using the original firmware (1.09) without a single coaster, datawrite, datasafe and bulkpack all work perfectly. if you try this software and dvd media and still have a problem then perhaps its a faulty drive?
its not me that's stupid, it's this dammed pc

Check the above Pioneer forum site at cdfreaks.com, you may find more information there than this site. Good luck!

  7. Everything I've tried has worked with this drive (A07).

Nero, Pinnacle Studio version 9, the trial version of TMPGEnc DVD Author, DVD Decrypter, and ImgTools. I had Roxio on my system but removed it completely after I installed Nero.

  8. You said roxio. THat's your problem right there.

What're the rest of your system specs? Whether the drive is good or bad, or the media is good or bad, you shouldn't be getting buffer underruns unless something on your system is screwed up.

Do you have DMA set and all that too?

  9. My system is Windows XP Pro - 3.01 GHz - 512 MB of RAM - Pentium 4.

I'm sure it can handle a DVD writer.

I'm not sure if DMA is enabled. How can I do that?

Is there anything else I should look out for?

As far as software I'm gonna go with Nero 6 - I've heard only good things about it.

    Thanks

  11. I can verify that DMA is setup on my computer. What else can I check on for this?

  12. I actually keep getting Power calibration errors. What would be causing this? Anyone familiar with it?

  13. I've used Memorex, Fujifilm and a DVD-R that came with the drive. No luck at all.
