  1. Anyone else notice that Ritek prices are droping at the same pace gas prices are increasing? yuk yuk yukkk I purchased some a month ago cheap and now I see they are even cheaper! Kinda tees me off but at least my next order will be less costly. I've looked around and the best price i've seen is @ shop4tech where the disks are as low as .77 each for a 100 pack and even lower for more. Anyone else seen a better price then this anywhere? I'm going to be purchasing more on Thursday and i'm psyched about getting them for .77 each. That will be the cheapest i've ever gotten excellent quality media for to date. It looks like it will only be getting better to. Got to love it.

  2. They look like 2x G03s. I'd pay a little more for the 4x G04s myself.

  3. freestyler, those are actually the G04's. I know it's hard to believe prices just continue to drop so drastically. I wouldn't buy anything slower then 4 times as i'm spoiled with an average 15 min burn. I purchased these last month but for .85. Here's the link that shows they're 4 times G04 disks.

  6. Yes it's very cheap, but consider these are unbrande. If you want to have Ritek G04 branded by Ritek you have to pay over 1$.......

  7. Would we have to worry about grade B G4's.

... can you tell the GRADE of the disks ...any of you guys that bought them?

Question, when each disk is clearly marked Ritek, and the shrink wrap says RiData what makes these the so called GradeB?

These are grade A G04 (if in fact there is such a thing). I have read far too many debates on the Grade A/B concept and feel this is more myth than fact.

From what I can discern there are no grading differences in Ritek only what may be considered a good or bad batch due to issues in the dye. As any legit company Ritek would not and does not sell a lower grade item unless they clearly mark it as such. Ritek is in the business to do business, and to do that they can not afford to sell substandard products under their flagship brand name.

I have been buying these from SuperMediaStore for many months and have burned literly 100s with virtually no coasters. On average I get 1/300 that may be bad or will not burn fully.

    .
I'm not sure we are on the same page here... the sites that were listed above ... didn't have RiData shrink wrap... if they had RiDATA then it's GRADE A! If you go to both the links listed ... there is just no-name , no -frill , clear wrapping ... hence ... it's not clear what grade Ritek it is.

Up till now I have only bought Ridata G4's in Ridata shrink wrap ... and not the no name , clear wrapping 100 packs. And if you bought from this store and it had Red Ridata wrapping , then that is not what these links refer to. I buy mine from Newegg and it clearly shows the wrapping on the Newegg site, but the 2 links listed above did not!

p.s. here is the pic of the actual packaging from the yahoo supermediastore site link , so you can see what we are talking about by unbranded.

  11. Newegg definitely has the red wrapping ridata discs.

Meritline, I don't recall having the red wrap, though each disc does say "Ridata" on them. Seems to be the same when I did dvdrinfo on them, but newegg's pricing, shipping, and overall experience are easily trusted.

You probably bought these ritek diskes from Supermediastore:
    http://store.yahoo.com/supermediastore/ritek-4xdvdr-fs.html

and not the link that is used above that lists unbranded ritek from supermediastore. Now if someone can confirm that the no name 100 packs work with no problems maybe I would try it .
The supermediastore branded ridata are about the same price as Newegg's price $85-90 per hundred.

Well the A,B,C theory is not the most imported thing, even thue I'm sure it exist.

If you buy a disc that are Ritek branded you now it's from Ritek directly. And I'm sure Ritek never brand a bad disc with there log. The Ritek branded discs are high quality G04 that meet all the quality specs and therefor you know you never end up with a bad batch using them.

However if you buy Ritek unbranded, Overprinted, Orangetops and so on, you take a risk ending up with a bad batch and thats it...........

I do see your point on the difference in the two links. Just for the heck of it I think I am going to buy 100 of the ones I linked to and try them out. These G04 (as both listings say these are) should burn the same. If Ritek is putting out a G04 silver top B grade, and a G04 matte A grade then maybe this is a company that needs to reevaluate what they are selling to the end user.

My feelings are Ritek G04 silver/matte are gonna be "A" grade no matter what. I actually could not even comment on another brand since all I have ever tried are these and have had such success that I don't need to look around for anything better.

  15. Great!
Please check them out ...since you have already bought from this company ...and you would be in good position to share with us if it is a good deal.... since you , like me, usually buy the ridata brand.
I was a little learly myself trying anything other than the ridata G4's since they don't give me any trouble ... but I sure wouldn't mine saving 15-20 dollars if these no-frill ones give the same percent of error as the ridata's do.
