    OK Here we go:

OfficeMax has 10 packs of Memorex DVD +/- RW - 4X- for sale at $9.99. NO LIMIT! These come in jewel cases.

Now here's the even better part. I went to Staples instead because of their price-matching system. They do 110% guarantee.

    Heres how it broke down:

Original price at Staples is $39.98, the price at OM is 9.99
Price difference is $29.99, therefore, Staples price match is 9.99-2.99 (110% guarantee) = $7.00 + Tax! I just bought two DVD +RW at Staples for $14.78 total! (20 discs)

Very nice price for RW Media!

  8. They also have 100 CD-R's for FREE, After Instant and mail in rebate at OM.

And at Best Buy thet have a 50 pack on Memorex DVD-R or +R for $49.99. ($79.99 - $30.00 INSTANT REBATE = $49.99). They are not in cases but in the spindle container. In Sunday paper.

  12. Great OfficeMax deal Memorex DVD+/-RW $9.99, but all stores locally out of stock by Monday. Then I went to Staples. They had Memorex DVD+RW in stock. So I asked the cashier to meet the 110% price guarantee. The cashier called the manager, after fifteen minutes the manager said they will not honor the 110% price match-reason:manager called OfficeMax and they told him they were out of stock. I explained to the cashier that in the Staples price match guarantee it does not state that the other store must have it in stock. I find both stores to be practicing deceptive business practices. In NY state, a business can not advertise a product without having it in stock(especially if in the advertisement it did not state limited quantities). What Staples did is a bigger scam because they claim in their advertisement that they will beat any advertised price 110%. It did not say that a manger will call to see if product is in stock. I will be filing a complaint with the AG of NY State.

Please do. I applaud such actions. Stores need to do what they say they will do. I too am sick of stores (FRY'S especially) advertising things they do not have, and inversely, stores not honoring ads because of unwritten "stock" rules.

I support your actions. Unfortunately we do not have such complaint mechanisms here in Toronto. I will do the same to Bestbuy, Futureshop, Loblaws, Price Chopper etc.

  15. I have found that items on sale mysteriously become out of stock the moment they open the door on the first day of the sale at the two Office Maxs near me. On 2 separate occasions I waitied for the store to open on the morning of the start of the sale, only to find that they didn't have what I was looking for. The first time was for a modem, the second time was for a printer. I made a scene the second time and was finally told that they had only had 2 on hand...1 was the display model and the other was set aside for an employee. Since then I haven't gone near an Office Max. I know that I could have pursued this further, but it just wasn't worth the time and aggravation involved. They just won't get any of my money as I now make all my purchases elsewhere
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

This also happened to Staples, Office Depot, Bay, Zellers and Canadian Tires here in Toronto. Are they luring us to visit them? Wasting our gas and time!
