Autorun with MovieFactory - can it be done?

I am using DVD MovieFactory 2 to create VCD's to be played in DVD players. I would like my end-user to be able to also play his VCD in his PC CD player. I would like the video to autoplay when the CD is inserted into the PC. This can be done following the instructions from this page:

The challenge is to add a AUTORUN.INF file to the root directory of the CD. Since DVD MovieFactory 2 does the writing as part of the process, I am not able to add specific additional files.

I have tried copying the VCD contents to a subdirectory on my PC, adding the AUTORUN.INF to the subdirectory, and then copying the contents of that directory to a CD but then the DVD player does not play it.

Can anyone assist me with this?

I would rather not have to buy Nero ($100)just to add one file to my VCD.

You may not need to copy an autorun.exe file into the root
directory.

The "LE" version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.0
features a check box option on the final menu page allowing one to
"INCLUDE DVD PLAYER" on a burned disc.

If you check this option, the program should burn a special ULEAD
auto-run player onto the disc - automatically.
