I've read quite a few threads here about media quality (you know, the ones where 1 group swears media ABC is consistent through 100k+ burns, and the other says it's crap), and I'm wondering what "standard" is there for quality besides "unreadable"? Kprobe scans?
I think often the source of disagreement comes from some people just burning video-dvd's and some only data. I know data is generally MUCH more demanding about read errors.
Perhaps that's why DVD+R media get rated lower than DVD-R? (cough, lordsmurf, cough).

I've asked the same question before. I'm giving you a bump because somebody out there has to shed some light on this one.
Grade A, but by whose standards? The manufacturer or an international organization like ISO or EIC? -
Yes, a good question indeed. I notice the usual "XYZ media is best"
crowd is absent. Listen to that silence... 8)
