  1. the problem I'm having with the ulead dvd workshop is, it burns for a CD (VCD/SVCD) but it's not allowing me to burn to a DVD-R (DVD).
it says I have 4.4Gb available out of the 4.3Gb it takes to burn.
look at this screen I took of the problem.

I tried using 4.3Gb,4.2Gb and even 4.0Gb, and nothing worked.
if somebody knows why, please, it'd be apreciated if you could help me.
    thanks, peace.

  2. What baffles me is on the screenshot you showed it said the required hard disk space was 13 gigs, it shouldn't be that much, something is wrong there. I used Workshop before and found that sometimes if I used separate audio and video files I would run into that problem. Might that be it?

  3. no dude, I use .avi, with both audio and video in one file. and the only reason why it said 13.0 Gb of Hard drive disk space was because, I was trying to burn 18 Naruto Episodes into one DVD. Strangely enough, the quality came out pretty good ^^.
I tried lowering the quality of audio and video, so all 18 eps took about 4.2Gb, that didnt work, than 4.0Gb, still with all 18 eps, and STILL, it didnt work. I used SONY DVD-R, heard it was pretty good ^^. so it can't be the DVD. Later man.

  4. A couple of items to check.

    1. First - determine the precise properties of your video/audio source clips. You can do this by right-clicking on a thumbnail that represents one of the clips. Then click PROPERTIES. For example, I sometimes work with MPEG-2 clips that have the following precise video/audio properties:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order A
    (DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8264 kbps)
    LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo

How do the properties of your own video/audio compare?

    2. How have you adjusted the PROJECT SETTINGS in Ulead DVD Workshop? These are the encode settings that you choose from the MAKE DISC menu. Also - please UN-check the DO NOT CONVERT COMPLIANT FILES check box.

    3. Have you downloaded and applied the update patches for Ulead DVD Workshop 1.0? You can find those on the Web page at the following link:
