www.blankmedia.ca but they don't have much G04s in stock now

    and

www.banzaicracker.com but they are in BC too so you'll probably have to pay PST as well as GST.

  7. I never realized that by purchasing the DVD's in another Province that I didn't have to pay PST. That changes a lot of things and drops the price considerably.

I've still found nowhere that can compete with shop4tech even with the exchange and delivery

    http://www.shop4tech.com/z/Computer_Products/3

Some great deals on DVD Media cases that hold 2 DVD's. I bought 100 Matrix DVD-R4X discs and enough cases to hold them all and it totaled around $180 Cdn. Check it out and decide for yourself even thought our prices seem to be coming down it's still hard to beat US pricing on some of this stuff.

  10. Anyone know of anything in Ottawa, Ont.? I'm always stuck going to Best Buy and sometimes Wal-Mart has a "sale" and by that I mean like 3 bucks lower than normal price.

    Any ideas?

Personally, I wait for walmart (or futureshop) to put Jewel Case media on sale for 2$ a disc.

You can get the very high quality Maxell 2x and 4x media from them. And I find that a very reasonable rate.

Sure you can get Ritek and other media cheaper than that, but I don't mind the extra 15-25c a disc (CAD) for the virtual guarantee of high quality media.

To be worth the added hassle (shipping costs, bad batches, etc) of "bargain" media, I'd have to see prices of less than $1.50 (CAD) per disc. Preferable 1.25 or so. Then I'd take notice .

  12. Yes, the Maxells I get at Walmart as well. But Future Shop never has any that I have seen.

I usually go to Best Buy and get Memorex. I have used -r and +r at 2x and 4x and have had no problems as of yet. But at almost $3 per disk, I would like to find someplace cheaper.

    Check futureshop online (www.futureshop.ca).

Free shipping to anywhere in Canada, so there is no difference from going to the store. So if the local store doesn't have the stock you want, you can use the website.

    They frequently have DVD+R 4x (Memorex) on-sale for $2 a disc.

My current discs of choice are the 2x and 4x Maxell. And thats mainly because of the nicer labels/tops.

If you don't mind paying $2 a disc, then simply go from sale to sale and "stock up". As long as you buy enough to last until the next "sale", you should be fine

(Personally I am waiting for the next Maxell -R 4x Sale at Wallmart. Just got all seasons of The Next Generation for X-mas, and need to start backing it up. Those suckers were pricey and I can't afford to get any scratched from often use)

Costco has 15 TDK DVD-r spindles, they are labelled as 2X but they were actually 4X G04s last time I got some. They go for 37$ regular price but I've seen them at 30$ on special.

  20. Guys, Mediadepot.ca has dropped their prices on Ridata. 100 pack for only $135. Good prices and they don't add surcharge on checkout!

I ordered from them all the time. It's fast and so easy (no manual process) and i like the fact that my credit card info is kept by the secure prestigious Paysystem company.
