  1. ok i use a pioneer dvr-104wb (latest firmware) 2X tops burn speed to make my dvd videos
i use Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 to convert the avi or mpeg and edit the dvd menus, etc. then burn it at 1x; i can't remember what dvd-r brand im using but they are cheapies; i have tryed using nero to burn the video_ts and that didnt work either. now my problem is that nothing but the pc will reconize them and the pc plays them perfectly.

  4. You can see over at my post right below yours...

I've used Windows Movie Maker 2 to edit all of my movies, then saved them as WMV's, and then converting them to MPEG-2's using TMPGenenc(?), compiling in NeroVision Express, making menus there and burning there using memorex discs and a memorex burner..DVD-Rs...i can't play anywhere but my PC also.

  6. You must put all the DVD files into a "VIDEO_TS" folder then burn that folder for stand alone DVD players to play the DVDR.

See my thread here on how to burn a DVD recordable using ImgTools Classic and DVD Decrypter

CLICK HERE TO GO TO THAT THREAD

If that method I describe still doesn't work than chances are it is the type of blank DVD recordable you are using. Some if not many of the cheaper DVD recordables have playback issues on certain stand alone DVD players.

    just a thought...

my standalone DVD player WILL NOT PLAY any burned DVD-R that is under 4GB in size...PC will play all just fine...but Philips DVD 711 does not like anything less than 4GB...

    like I said...just a thought

The two best are Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs and Maxell DVD-R discs.

Taiyo Yuden can be bought under the FUJI brand name but only FUJI DVD-R discs labelled as MADE IN JAPAN (will be on small print back of box) are Taiyo Yuden brand. If they say MADE IN TAIWAN etc. then they are not Taiyo Yuden.

You can also buy Taiyo Yuden direct from some on-line websites such as RIMA.COM

Maxell DVD-R discs also say MADE IN JAPAN and are every bit as good as Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs. Right now the cheapest place I can find to buy Maxell DVD-R discs are at Walmart.

All I can say is that you MUST be doing something wrong!!!

I have used DVD-Lab to put svcd onto dvdr.

It played on a ps2 without problems

    I didn't convert it.

    It is ALL about compliance.

    You need t understand authoring.

Use Tmpgenc to re-encode (for austerity and for certain compliance), then run it through tmpenc dvd author to create compliant streams, then burn in nero or tmpgenc author.

If you really cannot comprehend what you are doing email me as I will explain what you need to do.

Plus you do not need to use dvd decryptor for writing and imgtools - that is due to lack of knowledge.

    The procedure should be:

    Rip with dvdecryptor

    Convert if necessary) with dvdshrink, dvd2one or whatever;

Then burn the result files in neros dvd-video template.

You can put the ISO IMAGE FILE anywhere on your HDD you want to put it ... really doesn't matter.
